I came across this quote, and although it’s not specifically about piano pedagogy…or anything music related at all… I found myself thinking about teaching and everything that goes along with it — all of the people we come in contact with — students whose lives we have the ability to touch. And, even so,  as much as we try to be the best teachers we can be, at times things just don’t go to way we plan.  But when I read this quote it helped me remember that we, as music teachers, are needed and valued — and when we continue to remember, it gives us reason to be joyful.

I hope this quote will inspire you to keep on being the best!

“Be like the bird that, pausing in her flight awhile on boughs too slight, feels them give way beneath her, and yet sings, knowing that she hath wings.”    –Victor Hugo
